2021 Adelaide Hills Fiano

Textural, fresh + floral.

Fermented, then held on fine lees for 5 months to develop complexity, intensity and giving a lovely textural finish. This wine shows elegant floral aromas and great varietal flavours of white peach, pear and fresh apricots with a fresh and seamless finish.

Wine Notes

To showcase the fresh varietal characteristics of this style of wine, deliberate, simplistic winemaking techniques were implemented with minimal intervention. Fermented in stainless steel to maintain freshness, on fine lees giving complexity and intensity and bottled soon after fermentation to retain the freshness.

From two vineyards at opposite ends of the hills. The Kersbrook vineyard is in the north of the Adelaide Hills giving a cool dry climate. Gentle east facing slopes provide shallow loam soils ideal for these old vines to grow small grape bunches, giving intensity of flavour and soft tannins. The high altitude of the Kuitpo vineyard in the Southern Hills is ideal for this variety. Allowing slower ripening and giving complexity and elegance.

Fiano Background

A strongly flavored white grape variety that is used to make the highly regarded Fiano di Avellino in Campania, a wine region in the hills inland from Naples in Southern Italy.
