The focus of this wine and blending of the three varieties is to ensure we retain the characters and flavours of the Grenache. The Shiraz adds structure and complexity, while the Mourvèdre adds spice and a subtle gaminess, without taking away any of the varietal flavours, and the Grenache remaining the hero.
Grenache fruit is grown in the well renown region of Blewitt Springs which is quickly becoming – after 60 years or more – well known for a distinctive style and quality of Grenache in Australia.
The Grenache vines are 40 year plus, non-irrigated vines in Blewitt Springs, well know for its sandy soils, making for a lighter more aromatic Grenache.
This wine is a great food wine and is perfectly paired to a wide range of foods. From pizza, pasta and tapas through to stronger flavoured dishes, BBQ meats and game.
Best to drink young while the flavours are fresh and juicy, 3-5 years.
