New Release: 2021 Adelaide Hills Chenin Blanc
At home in the Loire Valley of Central France, this highly versatile variety has started to command the attention of Australian growers in recent years. Due to its naturally high acidity, Chenin Blanc is one of those varieties like much loved Riesling; capable of producing everything from sparkling wines, to dry herbal aromatic styles, and textural waxy & full-bodied styles, all the way to sweet dessert style wines. For our part, we bring you a fresh and bright style from Kuitpo, in the southern Adelaide Hills. A bright perfumed green apple nose is supported by baked quinces, and spice. Crunchy acid and pithy phenolics dance across the palate. Slaking your springtime thirst never tasted so good! The fruit was immediately pressed off after arriving at the winery all the way back in March; we fermented half the juice on full solids in seasoned French oak for texture and depth of flavour, while the other portion went to stainless steel for a long cool ferment for retention of freshness and crisp acid. Bottled after a short stint on lees, this wine blends together the best of both worlds. Add a bottle or two to your cart today!
